Andrew P. Connors, c0-managing partner of Connors and Brenke, has joined the legal network for the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) to help protect liberty and equality in higher education institutions.
As of March 31, 2017, Andrew P. Connors joined FIRE’s legal network to protect the individual rights of American citizens, specifically students and faculty at colleges and universities across the country.
FIRE was founded in 1999 with the following mission:
“The mission of FIRE is to defend and sustain individual rights at America’s colleges and universities. These rights include freedom of speech, legal equality, due process, religious liberty, and sanctity of conscience—the essential qualities of individual liberty and dignity. FIRE’s core mission is to protect the unprotected and to educate the public and communities of concerned Americans about the threats to these rights on our campuses and about the means to preserve them.”
Working hard to retain free speech on campus, FIRE believes it is a “fundamental American freedom and a human right,” and colleges and universities should not be excluded from that right.
As a part of FIRE’s legal network, Connors will join a collection of lawyers who have similar views about individual rights and free speech that are recommended to students, faculty, and staff at colleges and universities who are in need of legal counsel for these issues.
Connors has a passion for first amendment rights and is excited to join in on publicly protecting such rights. He looks forward to contributing to personal freedoms and the opportunity to represent with the same ideals.
