Virginia Super Lawyer Magazine has named attorney Andrew P. Connors as a Rising Star in Business Litigation. The Thompson-Reuters owned magazine produces the list every year to name an exclusive list of attorneys recognized by their peers. Organized by specialty, this exclusive list includes only 2.5% of attorneys in Virginia, as recognized by their peers as top attorneys in their specialty.
This is the sixth straight year Mr. Connors has received recognition from Super Lawyers, having received recognition from the peer-reviewed list for both Business Litigation and Appeals in each year since 2012, when he entered private practice. In 2017, Virginia Business Magazine also named Andrew Connors as one of its Legal Elite for Intellectual Property. Before entering private practice, Mr. Connors served two years as a law clerk to Judge William G. Petty at the Court of Appeals of Virginia. In addition to his duties as a Managing Partner at the law firm of Connors & Brenke, Mr. Connors is an adjunct professor of law at Liberty University School of Law, where he teaches multiple courses on intellectual property law, covering subjects like trademarks, copyright, trade secrets, rights of publicity (name and likeness rights), and patents.
As a Managing Partner at Connors & Brenke, Mr. Connors directs the firms litigation group. The firm has litigated several business-related matters throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond, including intellectual property, contract, civil appeals, and other business disputes. Connors & Brenke prides itself especially on its intellectual property expertise, having litigated trademark infringement and copyright infringement matters in court. Although it can never make any guarantees on a successful outcome, because every case is different, Connors & Brenke has obtained several successful settlements and trial verdicts for its clients. Supplementing its litigation practice, Managing Partner Rachel Brenke heads up its transactional group, assisting clients with intellectual property counseling, trademark registration, copyright registration, contract drafting, and business formation and record keeping. Both attorneys ultimately assist clients with both litigation and transactional matters for its core practice areas of intellectual property, business, and contracts.
